See the parks on Fee-Free Day!
The National Park Service is offering four more days of fee-free day park entering this year and young and old should take advantage. With more than 400 parks available to us every day it can seem overwhelming to try to see them all. Lucky for you, if you’re visiting Moab you can see three of them in one day! I don’t know if I would recommend trying to hike all of them in one day (unless you want heat stroke in your life) so we offer tours of all of these areas in one amazing flight if you’re interested.
What does that mean, exactly?
Canyonlands and Arches National Parks and Dead Horse Point State Park are all easily accessible from a central location of Moab, Utah and during the fee-free days you won’t be charged at any of them! The fee waiver includes entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Keep in mind that any services offered by third parties are not included in this because they are private businesses, but you can get to the park for free and hang on to some of your vacation budget if you plan trips around these days.
Fee-Free days still remaining
August 25: National Park Service Birthday
September 30: National Public Lands Day
November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend
These days are still to come and happen to be during the cooler times of the year. Make sure you are fully prepared before embarking on your desert adventure to avoid dehydration and heat stroke. Our friends at Adventure West have some good hydration advice that would be worth reading while you’re planning your trip including information about pre-hydrating before you arrive in an arid region if you’re not acclimated.
Good to knows:
Remember that if you’re bringing pets on your vacation that there are many places that don’t allow your furry friends so check out our pet-friendly article for help on that topic.
