Take to the air for a history lesson on the subject of ranches around southeastern Utah and western Colorado. These notable ranches, lying within the grasp of the La Sal Mountains, are abound with lush forests and deep colors.
Observe the cavernous hideouts of outlaws from yesteryear along the Palisade Butte. Touch down at Gateway resort to undertake a trail ride by horseback or visit the Classic Cars Museum. Enjoy lunch on Redtail at Paradox Grille and then relax on the return flight to Moab while savoring the backdrop along the Colorado River.

9:00 to 9:40 flight around La Sal Mountains viewing Moab from the air, historic and modern ranch and grazing areas, the La Sal Mountains, the Colorado and Dolores River canyons.
9:40 land at Gateway Canyons Resort, dirt airstrip.
9:40 – 10:00 de-plane and 10 minute walk from airstrip on small mesa overlooking the resort down a moderately declining dirt path to meet wranglers and get outfitted for guided trail ride.
10:00-10:15 safety talk and horse orientation. 10:15 to 11:00 horseback trail ride along the base of the Uncompagre Plateau.
11:00- 11:15 photography and patting the horses goodbye.
11:15 leave horses and be picked up by resort staff in SUVs for 10 minute transfer to Gateway Canyons Lodge area. Restroom stop and restaurant lunch (included) at Paradox Grille.
12:15 SUV transport back to the airstrip with ten minute walk up dirt trail.
12:30 – 1:00 return flight to CNY including modern Dude ranches along the Colorado River and air tour of Arches National Park.
