Meet at the airport at 7:45 am to check-in and meet your pilot for the pre-flight briefing and board your plane at 8:00 am to begin your journey into pre-historic america. Enroute to Cortez Colorado you’ll see the La Sal Mountains, Moab city and Spanish Valley, and learn about the uranium and potash mines in the area. Over the Abajo Mountains, above the Bear’s Ears and on to the Sleeping Ute Mountain. Around 9:30 you’ll hop on the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center van to begin your interactive program that includes an overview of the regional archaeology addressed at Crow Canyon. An educational visit to the archaeology lab will teach you research principles, hands-on primitive skills, and give you an opportunity to ask a local archaeologist questions about the area. Sometime around 12:00 pm you’ll be ready for a great lunch provided by Crow Canyon before taking to the air again for your scenic return flight over Mesa Verde National Park before returning to Moab.

8:00 to 9:00 flight to Cortez Colorado, viewing enroute the La Sal Mountains, Moab and Spanish Valleys, uranium and potash mines, the Abajo Mountains, the dry-land and irrigated bean farms of Dove Creek, Recapture Reservoir, Bear’s Ears, Lone Cone and the Uintas, the San Juan Mountains or the Southern Rockies, and Sleeping Ute Mountain.
9:00 to 9:30 de-planing and van ride to Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.
9:30 to Noon Crow Canyon interactive program including overview of regional archaeology addressed at Crow Canyon, visit to archaeology lab, learning research principles, hands-on primitive skills activity, instructive talk and question/answer with an archaeologist.
Noon to 12:30 lunch provided by Crow Canyon.
12:30-12:45 van ride back to Cortez airport.
12:45-2:00 air tour of Mesa Verde National Park and return flight to Moab.
